Mommy Is the Sweetest Word

'Mommy' has always been the sweetest word for me. Last night, Reesey woke up in the middle of the night crying and calling out for 'Mommy.' I could not make out everything else she said but I was happy to hear that even in her sleep she would call out to "Mommy" when she needs help.
Every morning when she wakes up, she would say "Good morning, Mommy" and shake me until she is sure she has my attention.

When I bring her to school and she doesn't want to walk, she would beg me and say, "Please, Mommy, carry."

When she eats, she would say, "Please, Mommy, fish" or "Please, Mommy, water."

On Sundays, when I'm off from work, my day would be filled with, "Please, Mommy, draw" or "Please, mommy, play" and "Please, Mommy, TV."

When she is not in her diapers, she would say, "Please, mommy, wiwi" or "Please, Mommy, pupu."

At night, before she sleeps, she would say, "Good night, Mommy" and I would say, "I love you, baby" and she would reply with a sweet "I love you, Mommy."

Come to think of it, I used to love calling my own mom "Mommy." And even if she's been gone for a while now, I would always cherish those days when I could just call on to her and she'd be there to talk about things, mostly the latest gossip, or eat out on weekends, or go to the salon and pamper ourselves, or simply just spend lazy afternoons watching TV together.

These thoughts had me thinking and hoping that, someday, when I'm old or gone, my little Reesey would also have good memories of the times she would call on to me, her "Mommy," and I would be there to spend time with her doing everything, from playing to drawing and praying and sleeping, and maybe, even doing nothing but just being together. =)
